Jacqueline Woodson, was born February 12th, 1963 in Columbus, Ohio.
She grew up in Greenville, NC and Brooklyn, NY.
She has a B. A in English and has received many awards, including 2 Newbery Honors, the Coretta Scott King award, the L. A Times book Prize,
and two National Book Awards Finalist and many others.
She has written over two dozen books including:
Hush, Peace Locomotion,Feathers, I Hadn't Meant to Tell You This, and many more. Her books are aimed for
young teens and children with real-life stories about different topics.
